First Official...Part two!

Sunday was my first real day in Japan!
And my family took me out! So much fun!

takauma! It`s so hard!

And the terebi-to!

Odori Kouen!

Danpa!

And now...school!
GAH!
It`s so hard! Everyone stares at you!
And I don`t understand a word!
But...I will do my best!
Oh! And to get to and from school it takes roughly an hour. I walk. And then get on the subway. And then walk. And then take a bus. All by myself!
And now!

AND! Last but not least!
...I taught Tove (the girl from Sweden) the soldier boy dance today!

First Official Post In Japan!

I have been in Japan a week! Sugoi desu ne!
So much has happened! How can I even begin to tell it all?
I will try my best...through pictures!

On Monday I spent basically the entire day with Ryan! A send off before I left! It was fun! (I miss you already! But you know that because of emails! :P)

Next! Tueasday morning I flew to LA for Orientation!

Some of my new friends! Yaaay!

ANYWAY - the orientation was kind of boring (sorry!) but everyone was so fun! We made lots of inside jokes and didn`t pay any attention! We even went up on the roof!

BUT! What we were all really excited for was...JAPAN!

But first...came the airport.

And since Americans are all carrying Swine Flu...we had to wear these masks! (I am the Repo Man!) I had to wear this mask the first day of school too! The only problem was...when I breathed my glasses fogged up and I couldn`t see! Taihen desu ne!

Now...Japan?

First came the extremely loooooooong 11 hour flight. But in reality it was closer to 13. We had to change course because of an exploding volcanoe in Korea. Or something like that.

Whatever that was that I tried to eat on the plane...tasted horrible! Yuck!

AND FINALLY! Jaappppaaaaaan!

We spent a day and a half in Nagoya! We stayed at this little inn thing! Look tatami mats and futons! So Japanese! ...also squatting toilets

And...get this...traditional Japanese baths. Yes. All of us exchange students. And Japanese people. Naked. Bathing. Awkward! Talk about a culture shock!

But the orienation was lots of fun! All the AFSers are great and I made lots of great friends! I wore a yukata!

And we even had a talent show! I did an AFS version of I`m a little teapot with some friends...after they all sang happy birthday to me in different languages! It made me happy! Yaaay!

AND NOW!

...another airplane to Sapporo! Bleh!
When I got here...I met me family at the airport!

They are SOOO cute! And so nice!

All the Sapporo AFSers with their families!

Otoosan (dad) with Choco!

Okaasan (Mom) and Sayo (sister) - cleaning up from ny brithday surprise! (Confetti!)

Miho is my other host sister!
And last but not least - Tiro!
Too much for one post...on to a second!

Some changes~!

Some changes~!

I have meant to update this because there are some minor changes to my plans~!

I will now be leaving for LA on June 23rd! Not the 22nd!
I'm okay with that though because it gives me another day at home and another day to get ready! ^_^
It only makes me sad that I will not be able to meet up with My Dear Karly in LA!

Also! Since I am a "short-term" student at Ritsumeikan Keisho - I do not get their uniform! Since it is the cutest outfit ever that makes me slightly sad! :(
Instead I will be wearing a white blouse and black skirt!
Also dress shoes and high socks ~ Not quite as cuuttee. But oh well!

And most importantly.....I have a host family!
The Suzuki family!
I got a picture in the mail and they are downright ADORABLE!
My host parents are in their 60's and do not speak any English!
My two host sisters, Miho and Sayo, are in their 30's and do not live at home.
I have been emailing Sayo though who lives close to home and speaks some English.
She is so nice! (Also - so cute!)

As it's getting closer and closer to my departure date I am slightly getting nervous!
About packing and cleaning and...all this stuff I have to do! Ahh!
I leave on Thursday for Youth Annual and Annual Conference. When I get back I will only have four days!! One of which I will be having a birthday party on! And the day before I leave I plan to hang out with Ryan...

...I need to start packing!
