As time went on and it got closer and closer to the first week of April - the time I told I was to be accepted to go to Japan by AFS Japan, I swear I checked my email fifty times a day.
So yesterday, when my mother sent me a text message saying I was accepted, I jumped up and down screaming. (Yes, I am that girl.) However, less than 30 seconds later it was followed by another text message which said she wasn't sure...
So the email I and my mother got was about the pre-departure orientation. One does not go to the orientation if they are not accepted by their host country. So naturally I assumed (yes, yes, I know) that I was accepted. My happiness and excitement were through the roof.
Unfortunately, I found out today, AFS sent out this email to all those who were accepted by AFS USA. It was a planning measure, as a way to put it. In other words, I am not yet accepted by AFS Japan. The rock falls back into the pit of my stomach.
And the waiting game starts again.

I'm sure you will get the approval from AFS Japan, and why not? You deserve it, and you've already got the approval from your native country.
ReplyDeleteI am only afraid that they will run out of spots before I am approved.
