First Official...Part two!

Sunday was my first real day in Japan!
And my family took me out! So much fun!

takauma! It`s so hard!

And the terebi-to!

Odori Kouen!

Danpa!

And now...school!
GAH!
It`s so hard! Everyone stares at you!
And I don`t understand a word!
But...I will do my best!
Oh! And to get to and from school it takes roughly an hour. I walk. And then get on the subway. And then walk. And then take a bus. All by myself!
And now!

AND! Last but not least!
...I taught Tove (the girl from Sweden) the soldier boy dance today!

  1. It looks like it's been a verrrrry busy week for you, but I'm really enjoying your posts and pics! You host family looks so nice, I think you really lucked out there. And I love the pic of the yukata - so pretty! You are living your dream kiddo, hope you have great fun, and you'll grow with these amazing experiences. Only thing I don't envy- er..the squat toilets! Are they all that way at school too?

    And Sapporo looks so pretty!

Walk, train, walk, bus....think of it this way, you can eat any goodies you want in Japan, and won't have to consider a single calorie.

    PS nice soldier dance...*g*

  2. PS the language will come. It's only been a couple of days; give your self a couple weeks, and suddenly it just clicks -you realize that are you aren't translating anymore, you are understanding. Immersion makes the language come so much more quickly, especially when your host family doesn't speak English. When I was with AIFS in Germany, in my host family only the father spoke English, and the rule was no English was spoken unless it was an emergency - otherwise it was grab the dictionary and figure out how to say it.

    It will come! :-))
