Picture Post #2!

As the title says - picture post #2!
So tomorrow is the halfway point - 22 days since leaving home and 22 days in Japan!
And I finally feel like things are getting easier. The first week and half at school was really hard and me - and all the exchange students really - were having a hard time and feeling kind of homesick.
But now things are getting easier and we`re having fun!
And so - proof of that fun!

Oh! And this entire post is REALLY out of order! So yeah. Sorry about that! Posting pictures on here is easy yet difficult...? Yeah. And I don`t have time to arrange this post and make it pretty! Deal with it!

Me in my summer kimono/yukuta! Today we wore them as part of a culture day at school. Look at me all cute with my half-heart! Or something like that.
Anyway - it was fun to wear but TIGHT! I could breath all right for the most part but it was also kind of hot. And when I took it off I had lines on my stomach from where the obi (bow) was tied really tight!

Some of the exchange students with members of the tea ceremony club!

Sado (Tea Ceremony) was REALLY cool! I liked it! I thought it tasted good too!
This girl was our `host` she was really nice and it was really cool to see her doing the tea ceremony thing. Kakkoii!

The exchange students all dressed up!

Me! (Need more explanation?)

My back! Pretty bow!

SO! On Sunday I went to a Japaese church! Ohigashi Sensei - my Japanese teacher - is Christian! And she was really nice. It was extremely cool I thought. But small - around 15 people. I would love to say more about it but...limited time! If you really want to know ask me sometime when I get back! I will probably go once more before leaving Japan!

When Japanese people get sick they wear these masks...so this was on Friday. Right now I have a little bit of a cold! So I wore the mask! But...don`t I look scary!? AH KOWAII!

We took a field trip to a place called the Disaster Center! It was cool! Here I am...using a fire extinguisher!

My host sister - Sayo! She`s really nice and a great help but notice the shirt...

...I want to write an entire blog about Japanese squatting toilets.

Sanrio! I bought Grace and Cade souveniors here! But the point is....GIANT HELLO KITTY!

Me with my host siter, Sayo, before Kabuki! Kabuki was a good experience but...never again! 3 hours of not being able to understand a single word! HECK - even Japanese people cannot understand it! And I am dead serious!

Hokkaido Jinguu! In other words - a Japanese temple/shrine! Before entering the temple you have to purify (wash) both your hands and mouth! So...me posing while doing so!

Me before going to bed! All set with my HxC panda t-shirt and Moonbeam!
Note - all you people were probably just waking up when I took this picture!

My bedroom! This is probably the messiest it has been since I have been in Japan! Right now it is better looking. I even fold back my covers everyday! SO unlike me! :P

Another picture of the shrine! (See! I told you it was out of order!)

A picture of Ristumeikan Keisho! ...but only about 1/3 of it. THE SCHOOL IS HUGE!

Me with Kate and somde Japanese classmates!

Me experiencing a Level 7 Earthquake!

...which you will not see because I left the computer up over dinner time but the video still wasn`t uploaded! Over an hour!
You will all have to wait!
Darn!

...I wanted to upload more video but this one has taken more than 10 minutes already - so! Only one video!

My scheldue for the next couple days! (And it goes without saying that I have dance practice every single day after school)

Tomorrow/Tuesday - Help out in English class for three periods!
Wednesday - I hate Wednesdays! Gym and Home Ec!
Thursday and Friday - no classes! But all day dance practice!/Preparing for the school festival
Saturday and Sunday - school festival
Monday and Tuesday - no school!
Wednesday - Friday scheldue at school! So in other words - no gym!
Thursday - last full day of school!
Friday - Half day and giving two speeches! (In Japanese!)
And then a week and a half of no school and I return on the 5th! Soon!

So yeah - I miss everyone but wouldn`t really call myself homesick! Everything here is getting easier and I am doing my best! :D<3
Oh! And I am checking my facebook now...but only rarely!
So if you want to talk to me you can email me! I check that almost everyday!

  5. You are so adorable! You + katana = love. I think I will have to kidnap you and keep you all to myself when you get back to the States, ha! ;) Mom, Kelly and I are weirdly fascinated by the squatting toilets and can't figure out how a woman uses one when she's wearing slacks?? Weirdness... I'm not sure if I want you to enlighten me or not...
